MISSION, BC, December 3, 2007 - Mission Institution inmates remain locked in their cells today following an altercation between two inmates yesterday. Both inmates received minor injuries, and have been treated and released from outside hospital.
Inmates will remain locked down until an exceptional search is completed and a risk assessment has been conducted. Regularly scheduled visits are cancelled until return to normal routine.
There were no injuries to staff or other inmates.
Mission Institution is a medium security federal facility operated by the Correctional Service of Canada. It is located just north of Mission and currently houses 276 male offenders.
