FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT PACIFIC INSTITUTION / REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTRE

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. March 7, 2008 - A 59-year-old inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford died Thursday, March 6, 2008.

Ronald Sinclair died of natural causes at the institution’s Medical Hospital.

Mr. Sinclair was serving an indeterminate sentence for robbery, unlawful confinement causing bodily harm and several other offences.   His sentence commenced January 28, 1970.

Next of kin have been notified.

The Pacific Institution and the Regional Treatment Centre are co-located in Abbotsford, British Columbia.  The facility includes a 20-bed Medical Hospital, 96-bed Psychiatric Hospital, 96-bed Rehabilitation Unit, 127-bed Program Unit and a 96-bed Regional Reception and Assessment Centre.
