ESCAPE FROM KWIKWEXWELHP HEALING VILLAGE

HARISSON MILLS, BC, April 30, 2008 - On April 30, 2008, Ralph Morris was reported missing from Kwikwexwelhp, a minimum security federal healing village.

The RCMP have been notified and the Correctional Service of Canada will continue to work with the police in an effort to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

Ralph Morris began serving a sentence for armed robbery in 1975. He is also serving a life sentence since September 21, 1982 for second-degree murder, escape lawful custody, and utter threats to cause death or harm. He is 1.70 m (5'7") tall and weighs approximately 68 kg (150 lbs). He has a shaved head with grey hair, green eyes and is Caucasian.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Morris is asked to contact your local police.

Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the escape and will take action where necessary.

Kwikwexwelhp is a 50-bed, minimum security, Aboriginal healing village located near Agassiz, BC.
