FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH OF AN OFFENDER AT MOUNTAIN INSTITUTION

Agazziz, (B.C.), December 20, 2008 - Federal offender Robert DIEFFENBAUGH died of natural causes on December 20, 2008 at Mountain Institution.

Mr. DIEFFENBAUGH, who was 69- years old, was serving an indeterminate sentence for various offences, commencing April 14, 1998.

The police and coroner have been called to investigate. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding this incident.
