FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT MISSION INSTITUTION

Mission, BC - - On September 19, 2010, Charles Anthony Heward died of unknown causes at Mission Institution. While the exact cause of his death has not been confirmed, foul play is not suspected.

Mr. Heward was 41 years old and serving a two year sentence for Break and Enter with Intent, Take Motor Vehicle without Consent, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. His next of kin have been notified

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Mission Institution is a medium security federal facility operated by the Correctional Service of Canada. It is located just north of Mission, British Columbia and currently houses 275 male offenders.
