LOCKDOWN AT MISSION INSTITUTION

MISSION, B.C., April 26, 2011 – Mission Institution is locked down following a series of incidents during the weekend.

Mission Institution is locked down for a search under Section 53 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act following a series of incidents over the Easter Weekend. The institution will return to normal routine once management determines that it is safe to do so.

Mission Institution is a federal medium-security institution located just north of the City of Mission. The institution currently houses 270 inmates.
