FIRST PRAIRIE REGION DRUG DOG TRAINING EVENT

DRUMHELLER, AB, March 8, 2004 - The Correctional Service of Canada invites you to attend the first Prairie Region drug dog training event.

Date: Thursday, March 11, 2004

Time: 10 a.m. to noon

Location: Drumheller Stampede Barn
Adjacent to Drumheller Institution

The Correctional Service of Canada, as part of its national drug strategy, employs drug dogs at its institutions. Ten drug dogs and their handlers from around the Prairie Region will be participating in a two-day training event being coordinated by Drumheller Institution. Media participants will be able to speak to CSC drug dog coordinators, plus witness drug dogs participating in a number of demonstrations.

Prairie Region is comprised of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, NWT and NW Ontario. There are 14 institutions of varying security levels in the region that accommodate 3058 inmates.
