FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PÊ SÂKÂSTÊW CENTRE

HOBBEMA, AB, February 8, 2005 - At approximately 20:20 hours on Tuesday February 8, 2005, inmate Sterling Foster Jones escaped from the Centre. Royal Canadian Mounted Police were notified and a warrant for the inmate's arrest was issued.

The missing inmate is 28 years old, serving four years for armed robbery with violence. His sentenced commenced on April, 1, 2004. His parole eligibility date was October 21, 2005. He weighs 100kg, and is 183 cm tall. He has a fair complexion with hazel eyes and brown hair. Jones has numerous tattoos on his right and left arms and on his neck and upper torso.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Jones is asked to contact police.

Pê Sâkâstêw Centre is a minimum-security facility in Hobbema, Alberta that accommodates 60 inmates.

The Centre has had one escape this year and one escape in 2004.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
