FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PÊ SÂKÂSTÊW CENTRE

HOBBEMA, AB, July 5, 2005 - At approximately 2215 hours on Monday, 4 July, 2005, Brian Desmond Hay escaped from the Centre. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were notified and a warrant for the inmate's arrest was issued.

The missing inmate is 32 years old, serving 4 years for armed robbery. His sentence commenced on May 12, 2004. He weighs 81 kg, and is 180 cm tall. He has a fair complexion with green eyes and brown hair. Mr. Hay has tattoos on his upper torso, surgical scar on his abdomen and a scar on his forehead.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Brian Desmond Hay is asked to contact police.

Pê Sâkâstêw Centre is a minimum-security facility in Hobbema, Alberta that accommodates 60 inmates.

The Centre has had one escape this year and one escape in 2004.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
