FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FAILURE TO RETURN AT STAN DANIELS HEALING CENTER

EDMONTON, AB, September 20, 2005 - Offender Kevin HONISH failed to return from his work release to the Stan Daniels Healing Center, at 11:00 p.m. on the evening of September 18, 2005. The Edmonton City Police were notified immediately and warrants were issued.

Kevin HONISH is a 38 year old offender serving a ten year sentence for robbery X2. He has a medium complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. He is 183 cm tall and weighs 88 Kg. He has tattoos on his right ankle, right shoulder and left upper arm.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of offender Honish is asked to contact the Edmonton City Police.

The Stand Daniels Healing Center is operated by Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) and is located at 9516-101 Avenue in downtown Edmonton. NCSA provides a range of spiritual and correctional programs to both offenders on conditional release and minimum security inmates through agreement with the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.

At the time of the incident there were thirty (30) inmates and twenty eight (28) conditionally released offenders residing at the Stan Daniels Healing Center.

The Correctional Service of Canada and Native Counselling Services of Alberta will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
