GRAND CACHE INSTITUTION WELDERS PROGRAM CEREMONY

GRANDE CACHE, AB, March 30, 20066 - Grand Cache Institution offers a program for offenders to gain credits toward a provincial certification as welders. This program offers an opportunity for graduates to become productive citizens when they earn their release to the community.

Grand Cache Institution's program has seen over 300 offenders take part over the last 10 years, paying their own tuition and working toward a Journeyman Welder designation.

On the evening of March 30th, offenders will be graduating from Grand Cache Institution's Apprenticeship Program in Welding. This program is accredited by Alberta Advanced Education - Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

Media are welcome to attend the ceremony at Grande Cache Institution from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Grande Cache Institution is a minimum-security institution located in the town of Grande Cache, Alberta, 445 kilometers north-west of Edmonton.
