FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT THE REGIONAL PSYCHIATRIC CENTRE

SASKATOON, SK, May 30, 2006 - At approximately 05:00 hours this morning, patient Garry Kohlenberg at the Regional Psychiatric Centre died after a lengthy illness.

The patient was 55 years-old, serving an indeterminate sentence and had been at the Regional Psychiatric Centre for approximately 4 ½ months. His sentence commenced on May 20, 1983. Next of kin have been notified.

The death may be the subject of a coroner's inquest as is common with any death of a person in custody.

The Regional Psychiatric Centre is a multi-level accredited psychiatric hospital operated by the Correctional Service of Canada located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. There are currently 183 patients receiving assessment and/or treatment at the Centre.
