FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PÊ SÂKÂSTÊW CENTRE

HOBBEMA, AB, April 7, 2007 - At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007, inmate James Rolland Badger escaped from Pê Sâkâstêw Centre. Police were notified and a warrant for the inmate's arrest was issued.

Badger is 43 years old, serving 2 years for possession property obtained by crime - under; fail to attend; fail to appear; fail to comply; drive more 80 mgs; offence under municipal by-laws; offence under provincial statues of Alberta (x5); theft under (x2).

His sentence commenced on June 15, 2006. His warrant expiry date is: 2008-06-14

Badger weighs 169 pounds, and is six feet tall. He has a fair complexion with brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Badger is asked to contact police.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.

Pê Sâkâstêw Centre is a minimum-security facility in Hobbema, Alberta that accommodates 60 inmates.
