FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PÊ SÂKÂSTÊW CENTRE

HOBBEMA, AB, May 31, 2007 - At approximately 13:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007, inmate Tyronne Troy Mantee escaped from Pê Sâkâstêw Centre. Police were notified and a warrant for the inmate's arrest was issued.

Mantee is 21 years old, serving 4 years 1 month for the following offences: aggravated assault; possession of property obtained by crime x2; fail to appear; break, enter and commit.

His sentence commenced on June 30, 2005. His eligibility dates are as follows: day parole: 2006-05-09; full parole: 2006-11-09; statutory release: 2008-03-20; warrant expiry: 2009-07-29.

Mantee weighs 161 pounds, and is five feet, seven inches tall. He has a medium complexion with black eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Mantee is asked to contact police.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.

Pê Sâkâstêw Centre is a minimum-security facility in Hobbema, Alberta that accommodates 60 inmates.
