EDMONTON, AB, May 6, 2008 - At approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 6, 2008, offender Jason Cattleman escaped from the Stan Daniels Healing Center. The Edmonton City Police were notified and warrants have been issued.
Jason Cattleman is a 32-year old offender serving a eight year sentence for manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Cattleman has a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He stands 180 cm (5'11") tall and weighs 82 kg. (181 lbs.)
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Offender Cattleman is asked to contact Edmonton City Police.
The Stan Daniels Healing Center is operated and staffed by Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) and is located at 9516-101 Avenue in Edmonton. NCSA provides a range of spiritual and correctional programs to both offenders on conditional release and minimum security inmates via sections 81 and 84 through agreement with the Minister of Public Safety Canada under the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.
At the time of the incident there were 26 inmates and 29 conditionally released offenders residing at the Stan Daniels Healing Center.
The Correctional Service of Canada and Native Counselling of Alberta will be conducting a joint review of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
