FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM STAN DANIELS HEALING CENTRE

EDMONTON, AB, July 10, 2008 - Sometime during the morning prior to the 08:00 formal count on Thursday July 10, 2008, Offender Dustin Kynan Potskin left the Stan Daniels Healing Centre in Edmonton, AB. Edmonton Police Services were notified.

Offender Dustin Potskin is 25 years old serving a two-year sentence for forcible confinement and assault with a weapon. His sentence commenced on July 19, 2007. He was eligible for full parole on March 18, 2008. He has a fair complexion, shaved brown hair, and green eyes. He has tattoos on his abdomen, right ankle, and left forearm.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Offender Potskin is asked to contact police.

The Stan Daniels Healing Center is operated and staffed by Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) and is located at 9516 101 Avenue in downtown Edmonton. NCSA provides a range of spiritual and correctional programs to both offenders on conditional release and minimum security inmates through agreement with the Minister of Public Safety under the Corrections and Conditional Release Act. At the time of the incident, there were 30 inmates and 30 conditionally released offenders residing at the Stan Daniels Healing Center.

The Correctional Service of Canada and Native Counselling Services of Alberta will be conducting a joint review of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
