FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM BOWDEN INSTITUTION FARM ANNEX

BOWDEN INSTITUTION, Innisfail, Alberta, December 18, 2008 - At approximately 10:30 pm on December 8, 2008, staff determined that inmate Michael Rudolph HORYN had escaped from the Bowden Institution Farm Annex, a minimum-security facility adjacent to the Bowden Institution.

Mr. HORYN is a 41-year-old Caucasian male serving an 11-year sentence from October, 2003 for numerous property offences as well as Assault and Extortion.

The Correctional Service of Canada is committed to working with our local law enforcement agencies and will review the circumstances surrounding the escape ad take all necessary measures.
