FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM PÊ SÂKÂSTÊW CENTRE

Hobbema, Alberta – At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009, it was determined by Pê Sâkâstêw Centre staff that inmate Daniel Whitstone could not be located on healing centre grounds.

Daniel Robert Whitestone is a 32-year-old federal offender serving a four-year, five-month sentence from November, 2005 for armed robbery and possession of property obtained by crime. He is 183 cm (6’0”) tall, weighs 82 kg (180 pounds) and has a medium complexion with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Whitstone is asked to contact police.

Police have been contacted and the Correctional Service of Canada will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
