Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, March 16, 2010 - Members of the Saskatoon and Prince Albert media are invited to attend a celebration to commemorate the completion of our Aboriginal Housing Demonstration Project, a pre-built, ready-to-move home currently situated at Riverbend Institution. As part of the project, the home will be received by a family from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in northern Saskatchewan.
The project began in 2009 through a partnership between Correctional Service of Canada, CORCAN, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Indian & Northern Affairs Canada, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, the Saskatchewan Research Council, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Prince Albert Grand Council, the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, and the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.
Where: Riverbend Institution, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, 2 km west of Prince Albert off 15th Street West.
When: 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010. The celebration and presentations will be approximately one hour in duration.
