Edmonton, Alta. June 9, 2011 – At approximately, 2245 hours on June 8, 2011, James Roland BEECHER was found to be Unlawfully at Large when he failed to return from an Unescorted Temporary Absence. Police have been notified and a warrant for the inmate’s arrest has been issued.
James Roland BEECHER, aged 36, is currently serving a two year and four month sentence for Break, Enter and Commit (x5), Theft Under, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Break-in Instruments, Operate Motor Vehicle – Flight, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x4). His sentence commenced on June 11, 2010 and his warrant expiry date is October 10, 2012.
James Roland BEECHER has blue eyes, grey hair, and a fair complexion. He stands 5'9 tall and weighs 212 pounds.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of BEECHER is asked to contact their local police department.
Temporary Absences from federal correctional institutions may be granted for a variety of reasons. These absences are subjected to a stringent approval process and only granted when determined to be in keeping with the interests of public safety.
The Correctional Service of Canada conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the police to locate the offender.
Grierson Institution is a federally operated minimum security institution located in Edmonton currently accommodating 30 inmates.
