Members of the Saskatchewan media are invited to attend the 100th Anniversary of Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert, SK on September 21, 2011.

The ceremony will be begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be attended by Correctional Service Canada Commissioner Don Head, Regional Deputy Commissioner Brenda LePage, and His Honour the Honourable Dr. Gordon Barnhart, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

As part of the 100th Anniversary celebrations, media are invited to participate in an institutional tour beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Due to operational and security concerns, members of the media must confirm their attendance no later than September 19, 2011. Please note that proper identification must be shown upon arrival at Saskatchewan Penitentiary.

Date: Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Time: 10:00 a.m. – Media tour of the institution. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. Guests are asked to be seated by 12:45. In the event of inclement weather, the media and invited guests should plan to arrive at the institution by noon in order to pass through security and be escorted to the gymnasium.
