FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MONTREAL, QC, May 22, 2004 - At 9:00 a.m. on May 22, 2004, an offender left, without authorization, the Community Correctional Centre where he was residing.

Etzer Myrthil, 27, was under a long-term supervision order and had been sentenced to 3 years for sexual assault.

A warrant of apprehension and suspension has been issued by the Correctional Service of Canada, and the subject is actively being pursued by the police with the assistance of CSC.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this escape.
