FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAVAL, Québec, July 26, 2004 - On July 26, 2004 Stéphane Bourbeau a medium-security inmate was not present at the 12:10 A.M. count of inmates.

The police have been notified and the Correctional Service of Canada will continue to work with the police in an effort to recapture the offender as quickly as possible.

Stéphane Bourbeau is 25 years old and is serving a life-sentence for second-degree murder since June 6, 1997. Mr. Bourbeau is 173 cm tall and weighs 69 kg. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

The Correctional Service of Canada will investigate the incident.
