FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LA MACAZA, QC, November 4, 2004 - On November 3, 2004, at 6:45 p.m., Roger Pelletier, an inmate at La Macaza Institution, a federal medium-security penitentiary, died of natural causes at the Archambault Institution regional hospital.

Roger Pelletier was 85 years old and had been serving a life sentence since April 21, 1970. The inmate's family has been notified.

A coroner's inquest will be held to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
