FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT DRUMMOND INSTITUTION

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC, August 15, 2005 - At approximately 11:20 p.m. on August 14, 2005, Albert Bouchard, an inmate at Drummond Institution, a medium-security federal penitentiary, died of natural causes at the Ste-Croix de Drummondville Hospital. His next of kin was notified.

Albert Bouchard, aged 60, had been serving a sentence of 3 years and 2 months since April 29, 2004 for sexual assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.

The Correctional Service of Canada and the Coroner will conduct an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this death.
