FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DONNACONA, QC, November 30, 2005 - On November 26, 2005, thanks to the combined efforts of the Sûreté du Québec, Security Intelligence Officers, and the Dog Master at Donnacona Institution, 95 grams of hashish were seized in the vehicle of a visitor to this maximum-security federal penitentiary.

Inside the penitentiary, this quantity of drugs has an estimated value of $9,500. Since April 2005, drugs with an inside value of $193,088 have been seized at Donnacona Institution.

A toll-free telephone line to Donnacona Institution, 1 866 355-DONA (3662), allows citizens to inform the authorities of any pressure being exerted on them by visitors or inmates involved in drug dealing, bullying, assault or usury. This information is treated confidentially, and a Security Intelligence Officer provides follow-up.
