FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT DRUMMOND INSTITUTION

DRUMMOND, QC, June 22, 2006 - On June 21, 2006, at around 5:30 p.m., Richard Bouillon, an inmate at Drummond Institution, a medium-security federal prison, died as a result of a long illness for which he had been hospitalized at the Cité de la Santé hospital in Laval. The inmate's mother was present at the time of death.

At 52 years of age, Richard Bouillon had been serving a sentence of six years and five months since May 2, 2003, for rape, molestation, sexual assault and drug trafficking.

An investigation will be conducted by the coroner and the Correctional Service of Canada to determine the circumstances surrounding this death.
