LAVAL, QC, July 5, 2006 - Management and staff from Leclerc Institution, a federal medium-security penitentiary, invite media representatives for an activity day on Friday, July 7, 2006.
During the course of the day and with the help of 100 inmates, the Olympiad for young disabled persons will take place. From 9 AM to 3 PM, activities will include games, lunch and gifts. More than 100 young persons and approximately 20 assistants and volunteers from the agencies "L'ami du deficient mental" and "La joie des enfants" will be on hand for the event.
Created in 1987, this annual event will take place for the 19th time. The Correctional Service of Canada is proud to see the Olympiads as an opportunity for offenders to demonstrate their reintegration potential and take part in initiatives that benefit the community.

For security measures and to accelerate visitor's entrance, all media representatives will have to show an identity card with photo. All visitors and their personal effects and technical equipment will have to go through regular searches as it is a usual procedure within the Correctional Service of Canada. Please be informed that no cellular phones are allowed in the institution, however key lockers are available on the premises.
