Three other packets containing 1.2 grams of hashish and 2.3 grams of marijuana were found in her handbag. In addition, an additional quantity of 25 grams was seized at her home as a result of a joint effort with the Sûreté du Québec.
The total institutional value of the seizures was over $3,000.
The woman was placed under arrest and will appear on charges laid by the Sûreté du Québec investigators.
The authorities at Donnacona Institution wish to remind citizens that there is a toll-free telephone line (1-866-355-DONA or (3662)) they can call to report any pressure to which a visitor may be subjected by other visitors and/or inmates engaging in drug trafficking, intimidation, assault and loan sharking.
