FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DONNACONA, QC, September 5, 2006 - On September 4, 2006, during a search in a cell, correctional officers at Donnacona Institution, a federal maximum-security penitentiary, seized 67.2 grams of hashish.

The drugs were carefully packaged and concealed inside sneakers. The total value of the drugs seized inside the Institution is over $6,700.

The authorities at Donnacona Institution wish to remind citizens that there is a toll-free telephone line (1-866-355-DONA or (3662)) for reporting any pressure to which a visitor may be subjected by other visitors and/or inmates involved in drug trafficking, intimidation, assault and loan-sharking. Such information is treated with confidentiality, and a security intelligence officer will provide follow-up.
