FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAINTE-ANNE-DES-PLAINES, QC, December 13, 2006 - On December 12, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., Roger Lalonde, an inmate at the Regional Reception Centre, a maximum-security federal penitentiary, died at the Archambault Institution hospital.

Roger Lalonde was 59 years old and had been serving a sentence of 5 years and 7 months for sexual assault and uttering threats.

A coroner's inquest will take place in order to determine the cause of death.
