FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OFFENDER UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE AT MONTÉE SAINT-FRANÇOIS INSTITUTION

LAVAL, QC, May 28, 2007 - Edward Sullivan, an inmate at Montée Saint-François Institution, a minimum-security federal penitentiary, was found to be unlawfully at large on May 25, 2007, when he did not return to the institution from his work release at the end of the day.

Police were notified immediately and the Correctional Service of Canada shared all relevant information and cooperated actively to apprehend this individual as quickly as possible.

Edward Sullivan, 61 years of age, has been serving a life sentence for first-degree murder since November 2, 1984. He is 188 cm (6'2") tall and weighs 95 kg (210 lbs). He has dirty blond hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. He also has a tattoo on each arm.

The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this event.
