FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LA MACAZA, Quebec, October 30, 2007 - On October 29, 2007, Richard Godon, an inmate at La Macaza Institution, a medium-security federal penitentiary, died of natural causes at Cité de la Santé hospital in Laval

Richard Godon, 63 years old, was serving a second prison sentence for an indeterminate period for attempted murder and sexual assault. This sentence began on January 25, 1991.

A coroner's inquest will be held to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
