FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec, November 13, 2007 - At around 4:30 p.m. on November 11, 2007, an inmate at Drummond Institution, a medium security federal penitentiary, was attacked by another inmate with a sharp object in the outside exercise yard. The victim was taken to hospital so that his injuries could be assessed. The attacker has been placed in segregation.

A joint investigation by the Correctional Service of Canada and the crimes against persons squad of the Sûreté du Québec is currently underway.
