FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC, January 11, 2008 - At around 4:30 p.m. on January 11, 2008, a fight broke out between two inmates in the exercise yard at Drummond Institution, a medium security federal penitentiary. The 48 year old victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries. The 42-year-old attacker has been placed in segregation.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct an internal investigation into this incident. Charges may be laid against the attacker.
