LAVAL, QC, February 7, 2008 - On February 6, 2008, at approximately 6:15 p.m., staff members at Leclerc Institution, a federal medium-security penitentiary, seized a significant amount of drugs.
Two balls filled with narcotics were found in the yard, near the fences.
An analysis of their contents revealed 222 grams of hashish, with an institutional value of $22,200.
The authorities at Leclerc Institution wish to remind citizens that there is a toll-free telephone line (Info-Crime 450 664-6702) for reporting any pressure to which a visitor may be subjected by other visitors and/or inmates involved in drug trafficking, intimidation, assault and loan-sharking. Such information is treated with confidentiality, and a security intelligence officer will provide follow-up.
