FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEATH AT ARCHAMBAULT INSTITUTION
STE-ANNE-DES-PLAINES, Quebec, March 8, 2008 - On March 8, 2008, Pala Sandrasegarampillai, an inmate at the Federal Training Centre, died at the Archambault Institution regional hospital.
The physician from the Archambault Institution regional hospital pronounced the inmate’s death at 11:30 a.m.
Pala Sandrasegarampillai, 57, had been serving a life sentence for second-degree murder since February 10, 1989.
The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
