FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAVAL, Quebec, June 30, 2008 - Paul Husbands, an inmate at Montée Saint-François Institution, a minimum-security federal penitentiary, failed to return to the institution on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at 13:00 hours after an Unescorted Temporary Absence.
Police were notified immediately and the Correctional Service of Canada shared all relevant information and cooperated actively to apprehend this individual as quickly as possible.
Paul Husbands, 46 years old, is serving a 23 years and 2 months sentence for robberies, assault with a weapon and use of firearm. His sentence commenced on February 5, 1992. He is 175 cm (5'9'') tall and weighs 109 kg (240 lbs). He has grey hair, brown eyes and a light complexion.
The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation or a fact finding review to determine the circumstances surrounding this event.
