FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT JOLIETTE INSTITUTION

JOLIETTE, QC, September 13, 2008 - On September 13, 2008, Pierrette Anglehart, an inmate at Joliette Institution, died at the Centre hospitalier de Joliette.

The inmate was pronounced dead by a hospital doctor at 2:14 p.m.

Pierrette Anglehart was 59 years of age and had been serving a life sentence for first-degree murder since November 17, 1989.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
