FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIGHT AT DRUMMOND INSTITUTION

DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec, January 19, 2009 - At around 10:45 a.m. on January 17, 2009, a fight broke out between two inmates in a common room at Drummond Institution, a medium security federal penitentiary. One of the inmates received a laceration to the head and a bruised upper lip. Appropriate medical care was provided. Both inmates are currently in segregation.

The reason for the fight is unclear at this time. The Institution is investigating the facts surrounding the incident.
