FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEATH AT LECLERC INSTITUTION

Laval, Quebec, September 4, 2009 — On September 3, 2009, at around 5:20 p.m., inmate Jean François Boisvert, 43, died at Cité de la Santé Hospital in Laval following respiratory distress. He was incarcerated at Leclerc Institution, a medium-security federal penitentiary, where he was serving a three-year sentence for various offences including theft, possession and dangerous driving.

The Sûreté du Québec and the coroner were notified and will be conducting their investigations.
