Change of Command Ceremony at Drummond Institution

Drummondville (Quebec), January 26th, 2011 – As part of the Correctional Service of Canada's (CSC) focus on pride and tradition, CSC has reintroduced the Change of Command Ceremony which allows staff to witness the passing of responsibility from one leader to another.

A Change of Command Ceremony took place on January 25th at Drummond Institution. This occasion marked the change in command from the outgoing Warden Martin J. van Ginhoven to the incoming Warden Pierre Laplante.

This ceremony highlights the importance of being the leader of an institution and the responsibilities associated with taking on the role of Warden. It is an opportunity to celebrate CSC's traditions and to reaffirm the incoming leader's commitment to enhancing public safety results for Canadians.
