Why was the policy changed?

The tables listing the parameters to be used by institutions to test their drinking water on an annual basis were consolidated into one table for greater clarity.

What has changed?

In the previous version of the policy, Annex A contained three tables which outlined the annual drinking water analysis requirements. The three tables have been merged into one table.

How was it developed?

The new table was taken from the Health Canada Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.

Accountabilities?

Each region is responsible for communicating the changes to staff whose responsibilities involve, either directly or indirectly, drinking water management at the institutions.

Who will be affected by the policy?

Staff at the institutions and/or Regional Headquarters responsible for coordinating and ensuring drinking water quality testing is performed.

Expected cost?

None.
