Why was the policy changed?

Technical modifications were made to this policy to provide clarity.

What has changed?

New definitions for the terms “active”, “inactive” and “termination” have been added and modifications to the definitions of the terms “associate” and “member” have been made to provide clarity.

Modifications were made to the section on Assessment of Affiliation with a Security Threat Group to provide clarification.

Some minor technical amendments were made throughout the document.

How was it developed?

This policy was revised by the Preventive Security and Intelligence Division in cooperation with the Strategic Policy Division.

Who will be affected by the policy?

All staff responsible for the identification and management of offenders affiliated to security threat groups.
