46. It is recommended that all directives concerning report writing be strictly adhered to.


CSC acknowledges that all reports written by staff should be in accordance with the policies covering those reports. Requirements of report writing will continue to be monitored by supervisors to ensure that standards of reporting are met. It is anticipated that the Standard Operating Practice relating to reporting of incidents involving Use of Force should assist in providing more explicit information to staff members on this issue. This SOP has been sent to field units for consultation with an expected promulgation date this fiscal year.

The importance of report writing and the quality of its contents forms an important part of the Correctional Training Program as well as the Parole Officer orientation program.

CSC's internal audit unit will also conduct routine audits of various aspects of security reporting (Use of Force, Search Reports etc.) and report to Senior Management as to their findings.
