About the InstitutionBath

Bath is a medium security institution on the north shore of Lake Ontario, approximately 20 kilometres west of Kingston. It is located on a federal reserve along with Millhaven Institution. Bath opened in 1972 and can accommodate up to 342 inmates.

The inmates are housed in three units, two of which contain ranges and one which consists of 13 houses (expansion units).

The Institution offers an open correctional environment that encourages offenders to take on greater responsibilities in day to day life. The expansion units are residential style accommodations that allow inmates to prepare their own meals.
