About the Institution

The Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge is a multi-level facility. It is located in the Necaneet First Nation, a small community of 150 located 150 km from Medicine Hat, Alberta. The Lodge opened in 1995 and can accommodate up to 28 inmates.

The Lodge offers a very open environment, the operation of which is comparable to that of a minimum-security facility.

The Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge offers a range of programs for Aboriginal female offenders.
