The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) participated in the Iraq Security Sector Needs Assessment Mission in May 2003. At the request of Foreign Affairs Canada (FAC), CSC participated in the development of a strategic plan for Canada's contribution to the Security Sector Reform in Iraq. There is continued liaison and situation monitoring with FAC, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Justice Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Department of National Defence (DND) and our United Kingdom counterparts. There are no plans for further involvement at this time.
