Nancy Stableforth

Nancy L. Stableforth was appointed Assistant Commissioner, Health Services on September 6th, 2011.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Stableforth worked as Special Advisor to the Commissioner and Team Leader of the Infrastructure Renewal Group; Senior Deputy Commissioner; Regional Deputy Commissioner Ontario;  Deputy Commissioner for Women within Correctional Service Canada; and, Executive Vice-Chairperson of the National Parole Board.

Ms. Stableforth began her federal government career in 1985 as Executive Assistant to the Minister for International Trade and the Solicitor General of Canada.

Ms. Stableforth holds a Law Degree from University of Windsor and was called to the Bar in 1980.  Prior to entering the public service, Nancy was a partner in the law firm of Gaetz & Stableforth in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Her major areas of practice were in the fields of criminal and family law.

Ms. Stableforth has served in the past as: Chair, Government Sector, United Way; and on the Board of Directors of a number of other service agencies.
