Morris Zbar was appointed Leader of the Transformation Team in November 2008.
He started his career in 1975 as a Correctional Officer in the Ontario Correctional System. He worked as Probation and Parole Officer and subsequently was responsible for the implementation of the Young Offender Act in Metro Toronto for the ministry in 1985. Following this assignment, he held a series of management jobs including Head of Institutional Professional Services, Freedom of Information Co-ordinator, and Director of Operational Review and Investigations.
Morris spent 10 years in government and non-government agencies, before returning to the Ontario Ministry of Correctional Services as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Community and Young Offender Services in 1998. He was appointed Deputy Minister in 2000 and retired in 2002.
He was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President of Operations and Corporate Relations for the United Jewish Appeal, a position
he held until December 2007.
